Welding is used in many industries. In tank and container construction, vehicle superstructures, wagon construction, shipyards, pipeline construction - stable, permanent joints are essential everywhere. And this can only be achieved if the work is done cleanly. Botched seams can have far-reaching consequences and are relevant to safety. The use of quality tools, careful work and many years of experience are the best basis for approaching joining by welding correctly.

Regardless of the welding process used (TIG, MIG, MAG, plasma, electrodes), welders resort to surface preparation tools when chamfering the edge, preparing the weld zone or cleaning the welding layers

Welding professionals know their craft and usually do not need to make corrections. In addition to proper technique, cleaning is key to removing slag inclusions between weld beads or spatter before applying the next weld ply. Bond defects, cracks or overlap? Chamfering

If two workpieces are to be welded together, the edge of the workpieces must first be broken by a beveled surface. This is done by machining. The result is a chamfer.

Cleaning the weldzone

Cleaning and preparation of the welding zone must take place before welding starts. Flash rust, varnish or primers are removed in the area of the joint so that a homogeneous bond can be created between the weld metal and the filler metal.

Cleaning the weld layers

Different welding methods produce different impurities on and around the welding layer. These are mainly silicates, slag, spatter and blue discolouration. All impurities can and should be completely removed.

Weld levelling

The aim of levelling is to adjust the last weld layer applied to the height of the workpiece.

Weld finish

After levelling the last weld, the finishing of the welded workpiece starts. The surface in the area around the leveled cap layer is adjusted.
