Animal fat free compounds
In order to meet the compliance requirement demands of the medical industry, FDA directives, TOSCA and REACH, Osborn has developed and already proven, a full range of bovine, animal fat and animal tissue free liquid and solid compounds, suitable for polishing surgical instruments, orthopaedic implants, dentures or prosthetic devices. Also taking in to account the material to be fi nished whether stainless steel, titanium, precious metals, nonferrous metals or alloys. Compounds are also available for plastics and acrylics.
Tools
Osborn has more than 125 years’ experience manufacturing technical brushes and a range of nonwoven products. To complement our compounds, cloth, mops and buffs are available, as well as small polishing brushes.
Manufacturers of scalpels, stents or implants, surgical instruments and equipment have already chosen Osborn as their preferred supplier of cleaning, finishing and polishing tools.

Research and Development
Two high tech laboratories are at the disposal of the Osborn R & D teams, focused on testing and developing new products but also checking on the performance of the existing range and the raw materials involved. Both
labs are equipped with modern robots in order to simulate customer processes and carry out service life tests.
Osborn Medical® Compounds
Osborn has combined the experience of Unipol®, Langsol® and Canning®, to develop a full range of high performance polishing compounds for the medical industry. Using top quality minerals and vegetable fats, cutting, polishing, colouring and superfinishing compounds are available to achieve a variety of finishes on stainless steel, titanium and nonferrous metals, as well as plastic and acrylic surfaces.
All compounds are animal fat free and free of animal tissue and fats. They do not contain quartz, cadmium or lead.
Osborn compounds are fast and efficient in use, with consumption kept to a minimum. Grinding marks are
easily removed to achieve a clean, uniform surface finish with no micro scratches.
Osborn polishing buffs
Osborn offers a full range of polishing mops for manual applications and polishing buffs for automatic and robotic operations. Diameters range from 100 mm to 1000 mm.
100% cotton cloth in various grades is selected according to its suitability for surface fi nishing. Osborn ensures that all products offer a long service life, good compound adhesion, resilience or fl exibility as required.
For automatic and robotic polishing, Osborn supplies machine specific buffs in a wide range of materials (sisal cord, sisalcloth, cotton cloth) and different folds.
